Playhouse Theatre

To celebrate the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth, we’re delighted to present a sparkling new stage adaptation of her most beloved novel Emma.

Step into the elegant drawing rooms and scandal-laced picnics of Highbury, where the clever and charming Emma Woodhouse is determined to play matchmaker – whether people want her to or not. In this witty and heartwarming production, fortunes rise and fall, hearts are meddled with, and love appears where it’s least expected. With a modern theatrical flair and great affection for Austen’s timeless wit, Emma celebrates romance, reputation, and one woman’s delightfully bumpy path to self-discovery.Featuring a brilliant cast of Hobart performers, this production is bright, bold, and irresistibly entertaining.
